🐄 A Great Night at the Crawford Family Farm, Beragh! 🐄
Sixmilecross District Junior Lodge No. 237 had a fantastic evening visiting Crawford Family Farm in Beragh, where our Juniors had the opportunity to see a modern dairy farm in operation.
It was brilliant to see the impressive new rotary milking parlour and calf-rearing facilities. The boys really enjoyed learning about the different aspects of running a dairy farm — from how the cows are milked and calves are reared, to how the new parlour was constructed and how the whole system operates.
There was plenty of interest and lots of questions throughout the evening, with the Juniors getting the opportunity to see first-hand the work, investment and technology involved in running a modern dairy farm. It was a great opportunity for them to learn more about agriculture and where the food we enjoy every day comes from.
🍕 And, of course, no Junior Lodge outing would be complete without some food! A great evening was rounded off with delicious freshly made pizzas from Dough & Arrow Pizza Van. The pizzas were a big hit with everyone and provided the perfect way to finish off a busy and enjoyable evening.
A huge thank you to the Crawford family for welcoming us to Crawford Family Farm, taking the time to show everyone around and explaining everything so clearly. We really appreciate their generosity in giving our Juniors such an interesting, educational and enjoyable experience.
We were also delighted to welcome our neighbours from Annahoe District Juniors (Annahoe District JLOL 286) for the evening. It was particularly encouraging to see Juniors from both districts coming together, enjoying a joint meeting and getting to know one another.
Building friendships between our Junior Lodges is an important part of what we do, and evenings like this provide a great opportunity for our young members to spend time together, learn new things and enjoy each other's company in a relaxed environment.
A brilliant evening of learning, friendship and fellowship — and one our Juniors thoroughly enjoyed! We look forward to welcoming our friends from Annahoe again and to many more activities and outings together.
