Want to meet other magicians and witches? Moots are the usual cautious approach ... Oxford oldest moot is the Talking Stick, being going for years and still going strong. Meets in East Oxford on the last Thursday of the month. As name suggests it discusses a prearranged topic rather than currently has a formal talk. I haven't felt able to go for a while but i know the organisers and they are doing a good one. Will post details when I hear. In meantime try one of the larger gatherings such as Weird Wessex ...
