🏡🔐 STAY SAFE IN YOUR STUDENT ACCOMMODATION! 🔐🏡

Whether you're living in university halls or private student accommodation, keeping your belongings and your home secure is everyone's responsibility. 💙

The Oxford Brookes Security Team has put together some simple tips to help you stay safe throughout the academic year.

🔑 LOCK IT: Always lock your bedroom door and external doors, even if you're only stepping out for a few minutes.

🚪 STOP TAILGATING: Never let strangers follow you into secure buildings. Make sure everyone uses their own access card.

🪟 SECURE WINDOWS: Close and lock windows when leaving your room, especially on the ground floor.

🎒 PROTECT YOUR BELONGINGS: Keep laptops, phones, bikes and valuables out of sight. Consider security marking and registering your property.

👀 KNOW YOUR FLATMATES: Don't allow unknown visitors into your accommodation without checking who they are.

🚨 SEE IT, SAY IT: Report suspicious behaviour, damaged locks, faulty access doors or anything that doesn't feel right to University Security.

🤝 LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER: A safer accommodation starts with all of us working together!
