We are a team of researchers at the University of Oxford, looking for people (aged 18 years or older) who experience panic attacks. In a panic attack, people rapidly develop a large number of frightening physical symptoms, such as a racing heart, breathlessness, or dizziness. Patients are then convinced to be suffering a medical or psychiatric emergency, such as a heart attack, passing out, or going mad. The study involves one session of effective, tested cognitive-behavioural therapy. Travel costs and time are reimbursed. Please email us for more information.
