Expand your horizons and immerse yourself in another language with a course at Oxford University Language Centre. Our expert tutors and flexible courses are designed to help you achieve your language-learning goals, whether it's for travel, work, or personal enrichment.
Classes are open to all, and take place weekly, online or in person, with many lunchtime and evening sessions on offer.
Choose from a variety of modern languages: Arabic, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Courses are on offer from beginner to advanced levels.

Expand your horizons and immerse yourself in another language with a course at Oxford University Language Centre. This is your last chance to enrol on an online intensive beginner course with Oxford University Language Centre to learn a language from scratch. Enrolment closes at 12 noon tomorrow, Friday 14 March.

Our Intensive beginner courses in Modern Languages cover the same material as the term-time Stage 1 Part 1 General courses, but in a condensed 2-week format. We will be running intensive courses in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish at complete beginner level. We are also offering Stage 1 Part 2 in French, Italian and Spanish for those who have already completed Part 1 with us or have some prior knowledge of the language.

Classes take place online in Weeks 9 & 10 of Hilary term (16 March to 29 March).

Courses will include three 90-minute online classes per week, and the completion of online learning pathways using the University's Virtual Learning Environment, Canvas.

Enrolment has opened for our end-of-term Intensive beginner courses in Academic English and Modern Languages. Courses will begin in Week 9 of Hilary term.

Our Intensive beginner courses in Modern Languages cover the same material as the term-time Stage 1 Part 1 General courses, but in a condensed 2-week format. We will be running intensive courses in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish at complete beginner level. We are also offering Stage 1 Part 2 in French, Italian and Spanish for those who have already completed Part 1 with us or have some prior knowledge of the language.

Enrolment closes at 12 noon on Friday 14 March 2025.

We are delighted to announce that enrolment is open for Hilary term language courses at the Oxford University Language Centre. You have until 12 noon on Wednesday 22 January to sign up for a course, but since places are filled on a first come, first served basis, we'd encourage you to act fast! All courses are open to students, staff, alumni and members of the public.

Our Fast Track pathway is also available for those who missed their chance to enrol in Michaelmas term. This is a more intensive and demanding pathway, perfect for learners who are motivated and committed to progressing at a faster pace. Please make sure to sign up before 12 noon Friday 17 January!

Courses are offered online and in person in Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

If you weren't able to take a beginner course with us during Michaelmas term, we're pleased to announce that you now have a second chance to enrol and learn a language with us from scratch.
Our Intensive beginner courses cover the same material as the term-time Stage 1 Part 1 General courses, but in a condensed 2-week format. We will be running intensive courses in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish at complete beginner level. We are also offering a, more advanced, Stage 3 Parts 1 course in French.
Classes take place online in Weeks 9 and 10 of Michaelmas term (9-20 December).
Courses will include three 90-minute online classes per week, and the completion of online learning pathways using the University's Virtual Learning Environment, Canvas.
In addition, one-week Intensive Academic English courses are taking place online and in person in 9th Week (9 to 12 December). With 14 hours of tuition over the week.

Expand your horizons and immerse yourself in another language with a course at Oxford University Language Centre.

Choose from a variety of modern languages, including for the first time Korean. This addition is the fruit of a collaborative initiative between Prof Jieun Kiaer, Professor of Korean linguistics in the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and Marion Sadoux, Head of Modern Languages at the Language Centre. Enrolment has opened for our pre-term intensive beginner courses in Modern Languages. Teaching takes place in Weeks -2 & -1 (23 September to 3 October) entirely online. Completing one of these courses will allow you to move onto a term-time Stage 2 Part 1 course in Michaelmas term.
