It is with sadness that, this week, I bid all our Old Members and Friends a fond farewell.

It has been a pleasure to work at Linacre College for the last two and a half years, keeping you updated with news from College and Old Member events across the world.

I wish Linacre College, and the Alumni well as it continues to grow.

Best wishes,

Linacre College Old Members are warmly invited to attend a talk on “Africa Rising: Fiction or Reality?” given by Mr Adedapo Olagunju (2005), this Thursday, February 22nd, in the Tanner Room, at 5.30 – 6.45 pm. The event is being hosted by the Linacre African Network, and the Development Office.

Dapo, from Nigeria, did an MBA when he was in Oxford. He has worked for a number of years as Group Treasurer of Access Bank in Lagos, and has recently been appointed head of a major global financial institution, for West Africa.

This is a rare opportunity to hear from one of our African alumni, and we are very fortunate that Dapo can visit College, during a brief period based in London.

After the talk, there will be opportunity for questions and discussion. Drinks will be available.

Please could you e-mail [email protected] if you are planning to attend, as it would be useful to have an indication of numbers.

The following opportunity has been recommended by Dr Lucilla Spini (1997), who has recently been awarded a Young Policy Leaders Fellowship at the European University Institute in Fiesole/Firenze (Italy).

The School of Transnational Governance (STG) at the European University Institute (EUI) is now offering fellowships to early- and mid- career policy professionals.

The Annual fellowships last for 3, 6 or 9 months, and are fully-funded with a grant of €2,500 per month.

Fellows must live in the area of Florence for the duration of their fellowship. A family allowance is available where appropriate. The language of the programme is English.

The current deadline for applications for the academic year 2018-2019 is 22 February 2018 (24:00 CET).

After more than 38 years of loyal service, Diane Morgan, the happy, welcoming face of the Linacre College Dining Hall has retired.

Staff, Fellows and students joined Diane for a celebration and presentation, which, of course, featured a Linacre teddy bear.

We wish Diane a very peaceful retirement.
