St Hugh's College Library The Howard Piper Library, St Hugh's College St Hugh's College library is accessible 24 hours a day to the current students and staff of St Hugh's College.

The Library Office is open:
Monday to Friday 9:00 - 12:30 and 13:00 - 17:00. The Library is home to a varied collection which covers all undergraduate and graduate taught subject areas. Additionally our collections include: DVDs, Popular Literature, the popular Very Short Introductions and titles by Fellows of St Hugh’s College. The library also has a variety of learning spaces, including a silent

reading room and a bookable group study area. There is Wifi access throughout and six computer work stations. The library provides a photocopying / printing / scanning service. For more information on the services we provide and how to access them please visit our Library Guide:

Did you know there are three copies of the Magna Carta in Oxford at the Bodleian Libraries? If you go to Blackwell Hall in the Weston Library you can view them & learn more about their meaning. St Hugh’s Fellow George Garnett revised & wrote the introduction to a classic work on Magna Carta. The book is Magna Carta by J.C. Holt and can be found in the Fellows section in the lobby with the shelfmark: Fellows 942.033 MAG.

One of the most loved study spaces in the library is the Upper Reading Room. It’s got loads of seating, natural light during the day and cosy lighting in the evening. It’s full of details, and was completed in 1936.
