Oxford Fly Fishing Society We are here to introduce students to the sport, and to organise (heavily discounted) fishing for our We are open to anglers of any level.

Founded in Trinity 2014, we are here to introduce people to the sport, and to organise (heavily discounted) fishing for our members. We usually fish for wild brown, rainbow, and sea trout, but we also run trips further afield in search of salmon, grayling and pike. Fly fishing is a brilliant way to escape from the stresses of term. Tutorials and essay deadlines are very quickly forgotten after an

hour next to a gently flowing river, set in some of the most stunning countryside on offer in the country. If you have not fished before, or are looking to learn a bit more, we offer free casting lessons, and have a large supply of spare kit for you to borrow. To sign up, please email [email protected]

Evening All,

The new Trinity term brings a new season for the OFFS and we have some exciting events lined up including an afternoons lesson at Orvis, lake fishing and some visits to a few rivers. We will also be having the usual drinks and summer dinner.

If you would like to come make sure you are signed up to our mailing list (the link is on our website) where you can also find some of the great deals that being a member can get you.

If you would like to get involved in the society then please do get in touch and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any other enquiries.

Thanks to everyone who came along to the session in Burford yesterday. Hope you all enjoyed it. If you want any more advice from the guys at Orvis, or start picking up some of your own kit (with a 10% discount), the link to their website is here:

For those who want to actually get stuck in, we are heading to Adwell next Saturday afternoon. Fishing over 8 beautiful lakes, with a BBQ at the end, hopefully cooking up all the fish we’ve just caught. We are pretty much sold out, but there are one or two spots going - sign up using the form below.

The cost for the day is a bargain £25 (assuming you have paid £10 for your annual membership). If you can give lifts, this will be reduced though. Please bear in mind that we have limited kit available for you to use, so please try and beg, borrow or steal some, or let us know and we can try and sort you out.

We are just finalising our end of term dinner, and will get you the details soon.

Responses are a register of interest - not a gaurantee that you have to attend. All events are first-come-first-served, and are only available to paid-up members of the OFFS (Annual Subscription: £10)

Hi Everybody,

Obviously the main fishing seasons only run in the the summer, so we have been spending the last two terms organising a packed calendar for Trinity for you.

We will be running fishing every Saturday both on local lakes and rivers. We have lots of spare equipment, so you will just need to become a member of the society (£10 annual fee), and then sign up each week to come along. We’ll also be running a few casting sessions towards the start of term, for both beginners and those want to brush up their skills.

Fishing will be run on a first-come-first-served basis for members, with all skill levels (and none) accepted, so start freeing up your weekends.

Finally, we will be doing a drinks event next week just to get to know everyone and get you all keen. Date still to be confirmed, but will be either on Wednesday or Thursday - we’ll let you know very soon.

Do get in touch if you have any questions at all, or have a look at our brand new website: oxfordflyfishing.wix.com/offs

We have also managed to get a 15% discount for all members from John Norris of Penrith (excluding a few brands like Schoffel and Dubarry).

To get the discount all you have to do is ring John Norris on 01768 864 211 and mention that you are a member.

The nice people at Orvis have kindly offered 10% discount cards for all members of the society. Let us know if you would like one, and we can send it your way.

If you are looking to improve your fishing, they have also said that they will be happy to offer two-hour introductory sessions, at their Burford store. Again, let us know and we can organise something for when everyone is back in Oxford.
