Yesterday’s Compliance Day brought our community together, with plenty of new faces joining familiar returning students.

It was wonderful to see students getting to know one another, reconnecting after the summer and new friendships already beginning to form.

The OIC community is coming back to life, and we’re excited for everything the year ahead will bring.

Getting to know the city they’ll soon call home. 📍

As part of our Head Start Programme, students headed out into Oxford to explore its historic landmarks, institutions and culture.

Along the way, they built confidence navigating their new surroundings, learned more about Oxford’s history and discovered what makes the city such a unique place to live and study.

A day of giving back to our local community.

On Thursday, our students spent the morning volunteering at Oxford Food Hub, helping to sort toiletries ready for distribution across the community.

The afternoon took them to Oxford City Farm, where they cooked with ingredients sourced from the farm before spending some time feeding the goats and chickens.

A great opportunity to get involved, learn something new and make a positive contribution beyond the classroom.

On Friday, our students put science into motion.

Inspired by one of the MIT Challenges, students explored magnetism and the conditions needed for levitation, discovering the science behind technologies such as maglev trains.

Alongside experimenting with physics in practice, students strengthened their collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.
