Alongside Morgan Stanley and UBS, we are hosting an AmplifyME event🌟🌟

It consists of a free 2 hour live simulation to gain experience in investment bank trading and asset management roles. Top performers will have the chance to be fast-tracked to AmplifyME’s partner clients, including global partners Morgan Stanley and UBS.

💫💫 Join us this Thursday from 6-7pm for an online workshop with Echios! 💫💫

This will be an intro to finance workshop, providing insight into financial and equity markets. Echios is a company which trains individuals working in financial corporations in financial markets and leadership training. They also offer bootcamps which are free of charge to students to enable them to gain knowledge about this industry and reduce the barriers of entry into finance.

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a dinner in partnership with Trachet! This should be an amazing opportunity to learn more from their esteemed team and to meet other like-minded people.

Trachet is a boutique advisory that specialises in M&A and fundraising for startups and scaleups globally from Series A to Series C. Their clients are within the tech space with a special interest in AI and IP. Trachet’s founder, Claire Trachet, has 15 years of experience, including 7 years in M&A at Deutsche Bank, founding her own TravelTech company and now running her own advisory firm. As a company, Trachet values entrepreneurship, passion and curiosity with the clients at the centre of what they do. The dinner will be at Wildlings at 7:15pm on the 30th April and there are 8 spaces available

President’s Welcome TT24! 🌟

Hi everyone! I’m Iris, a second year Biochemist at The Queen’s College and I’m honoured to be President of Oxford Women in Business this Trinity.

Over the vacation, all of our 12 teams have been working extremely hard to arrange a carefully curated termcard of fantastic events. Trinity term will see a Demystifying OxWIB event, the relaunch of our international Mentorship Scheme, a new edition of Insight magazine and of course our famous President’s Drinks.

We are also working hard on new ways to develop and support our community through our socials and excitingly the launch of a new scheme, OxWIB Coffee Roulette, as well as continuing to connect with other Women in Business societies across the UK.

I wish everyone a successful term and look forward to seeing new and familiar faces at our events this term!

We are so excited to announce this upcoming event🌟

Join Oxford Women in Business, Oxford Women in Computer Science, and Entrepreneur First for a workshop on the first steps towards building a start-up.

Entrepreneur First invests in exceptional individuals to build startups from scratch. They bring together talented outliers to develop their most ambitious ideas and raise money from the world’s best investors. The startups cofounded in their programs are now worth over $10B.

With practical guidance from Entrepreneur First, the session will start off with start-up ideation sprints followed by building a plan for minimum viable testing.

Save the date: February 26th at 5:00 - 6:30 pm in the Trinity College Garden Room, open to all women in Oxford.

We are super excited to be welcoming Doina Ionescu next Wednesday at Pembroke College with OxWEST 🤩

Doina Ionescu has been Merck’s Managing Director for the UK & Ireland since May 202. Since joining Merck as a research scientist in 1998, she has held a diverse range of roles within the company including in Corporate Business Development, Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions and Commercial Operations.

In June this year, she was elected to the Board of Directors for the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI). She also represents Merck on the European Medicines Group, contributing towards the development of its policy positions and advocacy efforts.

Doina is a physicist by background and holds a Master’s degree in nuclear physics from the University of Bucharest, a PhD in physics from the University of Southampton and an Executive MBA from Ashridge Business School.

Come to our CV Swap Workshop! ✒️👩‍💻

During this workshop, participants will swap CVs with other members who are interested in the same industry and provide one another with peer-to-peer feedback. Prior to the swap, we will briefly run through the characteristics of a strong CV. This is a great opportunity to get feedback on your CV and network with other like-minded members.
