Welcome to St Catherine's - Oxford's youngest mixed (undergraduate and graduate) college - and one of its largest and most diverse communities. Though the 1962 opening of the College represented an important moment in our distinguished history, our roots stretch back to the 1860s. St Catherine's - or Catz as it is affectionately known - is known for its spirit of openness, friendliness and dynamis

m, and the satisfaction of intellectual curiosity. Despite advancing within Oxford University's ancient tradition, our atmosphere is a distinctly modern one. Our striking modernist College buildings and our beautiful grounds, designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen, aid our distinctiveness.

"Representation matters because it changes expectations."

To mark International Women’s Day, St Catz Master Jude Kelly CBE, brought together three students - Elizabeth Hamilton, Shraddha Gautam and Julia Gartold - for an open conversation about women’s leadership, confidence and opportunity.

Together they discuss how leadership is changing and the role universities play in helping the next generation find their voice. Watch the video below.

World Book Day 📚

For World Book Day this year, we are celebrating Catz Fellow, Professor Ben Bollig, who has co-edited a major new volume of 21st century Latin American poetry.

His work brings together more than 30 international scholars to explore the voices, movements and cultural forces shaping this poetry.

It is one of the most comprehensive accounts to date and challenges traditional ways of thinking about the literature.

A huge congratulations to Professor Ben Bollig on this achievement! 🎉

Catz in Switzerland!

Last weekend, our Deputy Director of Development, Rachel Shepherd, and Catz Fellow, Professor Inken von Borzyskowski, headed to Zurich and Geneva at the invitation of Swiss Friends of Oxford (SFOU).

Professor von Borzyskowski spoke on states exiting International Organisations (IOs), based on her recently published book on this topic.
The large number of IOs that the US has exited in the last year made these talks particularly timely, with IOs in Geneva affected, including 40% of staff at the WHO.

This trip offered a fantastic opportunity to engage with our Catz community in Switzerland and introduce local alumni to the benefits of being an SFOU member.
