The New Christian Masculinities project explores young men's experiences of faith, church and masculinity today, and they are looking for participants to be interviewed about their own faith journeys and practice.

A few snaps from a very special event 📸

On Thursday 17 September 2026, we were deeply honoured to welcome His All-Holiness Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople - New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, to Oxford for a special lecture hosted by the Centre for Law and Religion, based at Regent's.

Speaking at the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, His All-Holiness delivered a lecture on Religious Liberty in Contested Ecosystems: Law, Religion and Foreign Policy in a New International Order, exploring questions at the intersection of faith, law and international affairs.

After the lecture, His All-Holiness joined us for a formal dinner at Regent's. We were honoured to have him with us in Helwys Hall.

📚 Just in time for Black History Month, the findings from the Birmingham Black Churches Exploring their Black History research project have been published!

Led by Regent's Research Fellow Dr Gale Richards, the project began in January 2025 and has supported six participating churches to re-narrate their histories - bringing greater recognition to the often-overlooked experiences and contributions of Black church members.

The churches' stories offer important insights into migration, addressing racial discrimination, and building multicultural and intercultural communities.

A timely opportunity to uncover, acknowledge and share stories that deserve to be heard 👏

Maxim and Christina met when they were both studying at Regent's, and earlier this month Maxim surprised Christina by bringing her back to their third-year flat to pop the question. We are honoured to have been the backdrop for so many of their special memories!

A few snaps from the Game Changer exhibition at Regent's a couple of weeks ago 📸

Featuring treasures from the Angus Library and Archive and celebrating the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale's translation of the Bible, the exhibition traced the journey of Bible translation from the 16th to the 18th century.

At the official exhibition opening, His Eminence Archbishop Angaelos, Coptic Orthodox Archbishop of London - and also President of the Bible Society! - said a few words before delving into the exhibit.

Thank you so much to our wonderful Fellow Emerita, Dr Lynn Robson, and our Angus Librarian, Emily Burgoyne, for putting together a truly exceptional exhibition 👏

Today we are wishing a huge congratulations to Dr Tim Middleton, whose recent book - Witnessing A Wounded World - has received two international prizes: the 2026 Research Prize from ESSAT and the 2026 ISSR Book Prize.

The book, which is an exploration of the relationship between theology and the natural sciences, asks what it might mean to think of the Earth as itself traumatised 🌏

💬 Reflecting on the awards, Tim says: "It is a real honour to have my work recognised in this way, and a delight to see that Witnessing a Wounded World is resonating with readers. My hope is that the book continues to prompt ecotheological reflection on the current planetary situation.”
