RIP. DENIS BRANCH AND DERRICK CREESE. Brilliant dinner company and cabinet makers.
Denis was a student in 1939 at greysmead and high street. He looked after Derrick when he started at Rycotewood in 1944. Derrick brother Wilf was one of the first eight boys to attend Rycotewood. Denis made furniture for Cecil Michaelis in Aux en Provance and was at Thame Joinery. Derrick was a school teacher. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mollie Branch and Joan Creese and their families.

Sad news as we have learnt that in December Andy Shorter and Len Foreman have passed away. They were both exceptional engineers and a pleasure to teach and lead with. Our thoughts are with their families at this time.

Today we remembered a fantastic teacher and friend of Rycotewood.

We have been informed by John Austin that Stan Ford... an amazing woodwork teacher of drawing and practical work sadly died last month. He was 90. His industry experience was at Wren plywood in shaping and manufacturing furniture was at the forefront of the industry. He was a true gentleman and served Rycotewood well.

Sadly. Roy Paiginton passed away last week. He was a great craftsman and taught me to Woodturn. I made a wooden priest for fishing... and used it today... funeral details are not yet known.

Sadly, Peter Russell-Smith died last Friday. His wife Hazel has sent details through to the Association of the funeral arrangements. 26th July. at 4pm - Oxford Crematorium. Headington. OXON.
