Last term, our talented Art students had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with the Old Fire Station, Oxford, as part of their Bright Nights Festival. As a result, all Level 2 and Level 3 students exhibited their artwork, completely taking over the gallery space!

The exhibition explores the thought-provoking question:

‘How does the next generation envision and engage with their world?’

Through a diverse range of mediums—including sculpture, fashion and textiles, photography, and film—our students share their unique perspectives, encouraging reflection on our communities and the environment. 🌍💡

They have done an amazing job, and the exhibition runs until Saturday 8 February—don’t miss your chance to see it before it’s too late! 😁

🕊️✨ Remembering and reflecting on Holocaust Memorial Day ✨🕊️

Today, we honour the millions of lives lost during some of the darkest periods in history. Let us stand united in remembrance, cherishing the stories of resilience and courage.

Education is our beacon of hope, and through learning, we strive to create a world free from hatred and prejudice. Take a moment to educate yourself on the historical events that unfolded during these times, and reflect on how we can come together to learn from them.

You can find free online education resources on the official Holocaust Memorial Day Trust website here: https://hmd.org.uk

Let's dedicate ourselves to fostering understanding and empathy. In the face of adversity, knowledge is our strongest ally.

🌟 Let’s talk about Blue Monday 🌟

Did you know that the idea of 'Blue Monday' – supposedly the UK's most depressing day of the year – was created by a travel company years ago? It has no scientific basis, and there’s no single day that defines how we feel.

At Activate Learning, we believe that every day is an opportunity to prioritise mental health. We’re committed to supporting our students and staff in navigating life’s challenges, not just today but every day of the year.

If you’re feeling low or need someone to talk to, remember: you’re not alone. 💚 Explore our mental health resources and find support here: https://bit.ly/3CdNEk6

Yesterday we were thrilled to attend the launch of the Sobell Accumulator run by Sobell House.

Taking place between 16 January and 22 May, this philanthropic challenge aims to raise funds for a local hospice that supports individuals with life-limiting illnesses.

Using a seed fund of £50, students from our city-centre campus and technology campus will engage in a range of fundraising activities, with the proceeds reinvested to raise more until a target is reached.

The Sobell Accumulator offers students a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing their skills.

The challenge will finish with an awards ceremony in June with prizes for the most raised, community engagement and innovation ⭐
