Many of us looked to the sky on April 1 as Artemis II launched towards the moon, continuing a history of human fascination with the stars and planets. Join us on Friday and Monday as we explore that history through our Old Library collections, featuring the first English translation of Galileo, 17th century speculation of extraterrestrial life and an Aularian companion of Dr Who!

The Old Library will be open Friday 8 May 1pm-7pm and Monday 11 May 1pm-4pm.

Pictured are beautiful illustrations from a 1929 edition of Bernard de Fontenelle's Plurality of Worlds.
