ookes Equestrian is a society that enjoys the best mix of sport and socials! NO NEED FOR YOUR OWN HORSE as all competitions are run on riding school/borrowed horses and judged on riding style rather than the ability of the horse. There are also opportunities for more advanced riders to compete international within Student Riders GB.

At OBUEC, we’re proud to be a place where everyone belongs. 💗 Whether you’re a complete beginner, an experienced rider, or simply love horses, you’ll always find a warm welcome here.

Our club is about so much more than riding. It’s about building friendships, supporting one another, and creating an environment where every member feels safe, respected, and valued. 🤝

Remember, it’s okay to ask for help, take a break, and check in on your friends. Looking after each other is what makes our club special. 💕

Meet Zara Barber, our Second Team Captain!

Zara is ready to rally the team, bring the motivation, and keep everyone on track throughout the season. Whether it’s early morning competitions, celebrating PBs, or convincing everyone that a 6am departure is actually character building, she’s up for the challenge. ☕🐎

From warming up ringside to cheering everyone on from the sidelines, Zara will be there every step (or stride!) of the way.

With her leading the charge, we’re looking forward to an amazing season full of teamwork, laughs, and hopefully plenty of rosettes. 🏵️

Meet Lily Blythe, our Stash Secretary, our First Team Captain AND our second Social Media Secretary!

Whether she’s making sure everyone is looking the part in their OBUEC stash, leading our first team through the BUCS season, or keeping our Instagram feed full of competition highlights and committee chaos, Lily is ready to do it all (and somehow still have time to ride!) 🏇🏻

Safe to say she’ll be wearing a lot of hats this year... and hopefully remembering which one she’s supposed to be wearing each day. 🤠

Meet Scarlett Koster, our Wellbeing and Inclusion Officer AND one of our Social Media Secretaries!

Scarlett is here to make sure everyone feels right at home in the club—whether you’re a seasoned rider or still figuring out which end of the horse eats the carrots. 🙈

She’ll also be one of the masterminds behind the content, keeping you updated with all the important bits: competition results, committee chaos, wholesome moments, and the occasional questionable photo from a social (don’t worry... I’ll probably post it anyway 👀📸).

Meet our Treasurer, Amy Tranter!

Amy will be keeping our finances in check, making sure the numbers add up, the club keeps ticking along, and gently reminding the rest of the committee that no, we can’t spend the entire budget on ponies 💸🐴

From balancing the books to helping make all our events, competitions, and socials possible, Amy will be working hard behind the scenes to keep OBUEC running smoothly.

We’re incredibly lucky to have her on the committee and can’t wait to see everything she achieves this year (especially if she approves the social budget 😉).

Whether she’s keeping the committee on track or making sure the socials are anything but stable, Charlotte is ready to make this year one to remember. From organising the best nights out to bringing the club together both in and out of the saddle, she’s got it covered. 🩷

She’s the boss 🫡

Lily is ready to take the reins and lead the club into what promises to be an unforgettable year. Whether it’s cheering us on at competitions, helping the club grow, or making sure everything runs smoother than a perfectly ridden dressage test (we can all dream 🤭), she’s got us covered.

With plenty of riding, socials, laughs, and maybe just a little bit of organised chaos ahead, we can’t wait to see what this year has in store under Lily’s leadership. 🩷💙
