Desert Coasts in Climate Change

Desert Coasts in Climate Change The solution to climate change! Re-forest arid coastlines to induce rainfall Nature then takes over and the forest spreads itself inland.

Operation Oasis is a waste recycling initiative that converts raw sewage into fertiliser and safe waste water suitable for use in desert conditions. We use the fertiliser and the associated waste water to irrigate the desert and grow trees. Did you know that when trees are grown near the coastline next to a desert they create a local micro climate change? This improves rainfall further inland and

the extra rainfall encourages more tree growth. We are hoping to win EU funding to demonstrate how simple and effective this can be. Our first major positive step is to apply for Funding from the E.U. We have submitted a proposal for the Communications Strand of the E.U. Life Plus, jointly with Liverpool University, Seville University, Fredome Visionary Trust, The City of Santapola and Green Events. All partners have provided jointly, the €500k matched funding. We are very excited about by the commitment and dedication towards a more sustainable future for generations to come and we are hopeful that our bid will be accepted. The project will recycle huge amounts of raw sewage, much of which currently ends up in the sea around our coasts.
