UWS Sport and Team UWS are delighted to announce that Toni Woods has been appointed Team UWS Sports President for the 2026-27 year. Toni's appointment follows a competitive recruitment process and will take up her new role on Wednesday1st July 2026.
UWS Head of Sport and Wellbeing, Ciaran O’Brien said, “After a rigorous process we are delighted to appoint Toni to the role of Team UWS Sports President. We look forward to working with Toni in the pursuit of our collective aspirations for sport at UWS.”
Having recently graduated from UWS with a BA (Hons) in Events Management, Toni has been heavily involved in Team UWS activity for a number of years. Throughout her time as a student, Toni has represented UWS and Scotland as a Sports Scholar Athlete of Team UWS Badminton, medalling twice at BUCS Badminton Championships and dominating the medal haul across SSS Badminton Championships.
As Team UWS Sports President, Toni will take on a leadership role with Team UWS, including leading key sports initiatives, working with sports staff and wider groups, Toni will also represent Team UWS within the wider Scottish Student Sport (SSS) network.
Toni's appointment comes at an exciting time as we look to continue the growth of Team UWS.
