We had over 60 soon-to-be BSc Adult Nursing students on campus today for our Welcome Day! 👋✨

It was a fantastic opportunity for our new students to meet their lecturers, get to know each other, and ask lots of questions about the programme and the amazing experience that lies ahead. 📚🩺💫

We’re so excited to welcome you to the nursing community and can’t wait to see you grow, learn and thrive! 💙

📅 7th September can’t come soon enough, when we’ll be welcoming all our new and continuing students from across all our programmes back to campus! 🎓🙌

We were delighted to be invited to the Scottish Care Conference in Glasgow this week! 🏴✨

Our students in Adult Nursing and Community Health have fabulous opportunities to attend these invaluable conferences, where this year the focus was on care and belongingness in nursing. 💙👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

It was a fantastic day of networking, sharing information, learning, and making connections with others across the care sector. 🤝📚💬

Here at UWS, we aim to provide our students with unique and invaluable experiences that enrich their learning and prepare them for their future careers. 🌟🎓

✨ We were delighted to be in attendance at the annual SIMposium Conference 2026 hosted by the Clinical Skills Managed Education Network (CSMEN) and held at our very own Lanarkshire Campus!🩺🎓

Our Head of Department , Dr Debbie Waddell, was there to warmly welcome delegates from a wide range of healthcare, skills and simulation backgrounds. 🤝

It was a real honour to hear from Catie Paton, National Clinical Lead for Simulation, Public Service Delivery Scotland, and Dr Victoria Brazil, Medical Director of the Simulation Service at Gold Coast Health Service, who shared insightful perspectives on the sustainability of simulation and its future within healthcare education. 🌍💡

We also enjoyed a fantastic programme of engaging and informative workshops, including Virtual Enhanced Mental Simulation (VEMS) and exciting escape room activities. 🧠🔍🚪

A special thank you to Katie and Sharon for making us all feel so welcome and for their fantastic support throughout the day. 💙

The future of simulation is certainly looking bright! ✨🔮

3 weeks, 40 schools and almost 1,000 S6 pupils later, it's time to wrap up our UWS Foundation Academy visits 2026!

It was a fantastic to welcome every single one of you to our Lanarkshire, Ayr and Paisley campuses and we have no doubt we'll be welcoming lots of you back as UWS students in the very near future! ❤️

Our Programme Lead, ⭐️Julie Orr, brought us together for a fantastic day of reflection, celebration and collaboration with colleagues from NCL and UWS 🤝💜

It was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication and partnership that have helped this incredible programme go from strength to strength! 🌟👏

With state-of-the-art facilities at NCL, Coatbridge🏫✨, this is an amazing, career-changing pathway for anyone looking to take the next step into dental nursing.

🎉✨ Celebrating our fabulous final cohort of MSc Adult and Mental Health Nursing!💙👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Last week, we came together on our Lanarkshire Campus to celebrate and say a very special goodbye to these incredible students, who have completed their pre-registration MSc in under 2.5 years!🎓👏

It was a day filled with a few tears 😢, lots of laughter 😂 and an enormous amount of pride ❤️. Our Programme Leads, Claire Wylie and Garry Collins, have nurtured, guided and supported another generation of fantastic nurses throughout their journey. 🌟🩺

Lecturers and students came together to let their hair down, celebrate their achievements and, of course, try on that memorable nursing uniform one last time! 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️💙

We couldn’t be prouder of you all. Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🎓🥳 Here’s to the amazing nursing careers ahead! 🌈✨
