Meet the GEMS President, Ryan!

“Hiya, I’m Ryan - a second-year Geography with Study Abroad student, your President for GEMS and I’m responsible for general goings-on in the society. I am originally from Nottingham and have grown to love living in Cornwall, but if you are a city person like me, you’ll adjust in no time (maybe call it character development, and you’ll be fine). As much as being a keen human geographer, I am a hardcore history buff, primarily the Tudors, and have a soft spot for everything pop culture. You will probably hear me babbling on about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. All in all, I hope to meet you all soon and some of you at the Freshers Welcome Talk in September. Until then, stop procrastinating about uni, and start packing! For returning faces, keep an eye out for our re-freshers event.”

I am keen to have fun whilst raising money for charity (if you have any ideas, give me a shout)! Looking forward to meeting you all and having a great year :).”

Let’s talk about sustainability at the Inter-society ball!

REUSE /RECYCLE ✨

We wanted to be as resourceful as possible and searched far and wide for glass bottles which we cleaned!

The copper worse fairy lights were kindly borrowed to us by the Stannary!

To add a sense of place we collected a little bit of sand from the local beach of which are have now returned!!

Info about how much money we have raised will be out soon!! ✨✨✨
