I’m looking forward to meeting all the new students this week just a few reminders:

📘 if you haven’t already enrolled make sure you bring ID and your student finance reference number if that’s how you are funding your studies.

📕make sure you have downloaded the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone from your app/play store. You will need this to log into accounts and WiFi.

📙 bring with you your placement information, I will be collecting this so I can make contact with the settings. Setting name, address, mentor name, email address and a phone number would be great.

📗most of all I hope you are all looking forward to the academic year. I know first days can be filled with anxiety but the not to worry - this is the start of a brand new adventure!

We are so excited to celebrate with our students next week, but let’s make sure the big day runs smoothly! Here are 3 quick things to remember:

1️⃣ Check Your Email: Double-check your inbox for your final graduation information and schedule.
2️⃣ eTickets Ready: Ensure you have downloaded or saved your eTickets for yourself and your guests so they’re easy to scan at the door.
3️⃣ Gown & Schedule Prep: Double-check your arrival time for gowning and photography so you aren't rushing on the day!

Next week, the Class of 2026 takes center stage! 🎓

We can't wait to see you in your caps and gowns, celebrating at Peterborough Cathedral alongside the friends, family, and lecturers who backed you every step of the way!

🎓 So, you’re starting university…

As a Course Leader, this is one of my favourite times of year.

The emails start coming in.

The questions begin.

The nerves are real.

And somewhere amongst all of that, there is a huge amount of excitement.

For some students, today might feel like the beginning of a long-held dream.

For others, it might feel terrifying.

Some will arrive knowing exactly what they want from university.

Others will still be figuring that out.

Some will walk through the doors feeling confident and ready.

Others will be wondering whether they really belong there.

Let me tell you something: you do. ❤️

Starting university isn’t just about lectures, assignments and grades.

It’s about discovering what you’re capable of.

Finding your voice.

Meeting people who may become lifelong friends.

Making mistakes and learning from them.

Realising that you know more than you thought you did.

And sometimes, completely changing your mind about where you thought you were heading.

As a Course Leader, I don’t expect students to arrive knowing everything.

That’s quite literally what we’re here for.

My job isn’t simply to teach you the content.

It’s to support you, challenge you, encourage you and, sometimes, remind you that you can do this when you don’t believe it yourself.

So if you’re starting university this September, whether you’re 18, 28, 38, 48 or beyond…

Take a breath.

You don’t have to have it all figured out on day one.

Just take the first step.

We’ll work out the rest together. 🎓❤️
