CUPE 3908 Representing Contract Faculty and Student Academic Workers at Trent University.

Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 3908 represents Contract Faculty and Student Academic Workers at Trent University. CUPE 3908 is comprised of two Bargaining Units:
- Unit 1 includes Sessional Faculty (course instructors, markers, tutorial leaders, workshop leaders, academic counselors, academic skills counselors, and lab demonstrators).
- Unit 2 includes Student Academic Workers (teaching

assistants, markers). These are Graduate and Undergraduate students who are also employed at Trent University.

If you're able to today, be sure to show your support for 358 by joining their picket line at 864 Chemong Rd in Peterborough, taking place tomorrow (or today, depending on when you're reading this), June 5th, 2026. The Peterborough and District Labour Council will be hosting their annual Day of Mourning service on Tuesday, April 28th, at 10:45 am. Location: adjacent to the flagpole on the front lawn at City Hall, 500 George St N.

The service will shine a light on psychological health and safety in our workplaces. As per the council, the ceremony will include the City’s proclamation recognizing April 28 as the National Day of Mourning and Ken Walsh, Training Services Representative for the Workers Health & Safety Centre, will be the guest speaker. There will also be a lunch at the Black Horse Pub (452 George St N) following the service.
