"With the municipal election quickly approaching, Peterborough and District Labour Council is organizing opportunities to join labour canvases with candidates we have endorsed to date.

Members who are interested in volunteering are invited to sign up and take part. Canvassing is a great opportunity to connect directly with Peterborough residents, share information about the upcoming election, and encourage informed participation at the ballot box.

Mark your calendars for River Run 2026! On September 23rd, 2026, starting at noon, there will be a march for Indigenous sovereignty and environmental justice with the people of Asubpeeschoseewagong (or Grassy Narrows, ON). The march will take place at 26 Grange Road in Toronto, ON to demand that Ontario and Canada "compensate everyone in Grassy Narrows fairly for the mercury crisis," end "the pollution by stopping the Dryden mill and ending mining and nuclear waste plans that threaten Grassy Narrows," and support "Grassy Narrows in restoring their community and way of life from the damage that mercury has done."

"Our striking siblings from OPSEU Local 358 are asking us to call on you - our affiliates, their members and our community allies, to email management at Community Living Trent Highlands urging them to accept the path forward in negotiations offered by OPSEU’s bargaining team. This path is in the best interests of the workers and their clients the workers so deeply care for.
