Year 7 cooking practical!

In our first Year 7 practical, students were given the assignment to design and bake their own custom savoury scones!

The results were absolutely delicious, but the real highlight was their attitude.

This class was completely adamant that they wouldn't just be students, they’d be icons.
They insisted on being the very first group to rock the official chef hats, and they wore them with pride!

Volleyball roundup!

We have been celebrating incredible Volleyball achievements over the past few weeks!

Our Mixed Volleyball team brought energy, teamwork and some serious power to the AoC Sport league, with a 3-1 win against Bridgwater & Taunton College!
In beach volleyball our Ivybridge Community College representatives headed to the JuVoTo Beach Cardiff event.

The boys, Noah & Henry won 1st Place and George & Harry were awarded 3rd Place!
The girls, Annie & Izzy, came in 3rd Place, which is a fantastic achievement for their first-ever tournament!

On to our Senior Volleyball team who competed in the Wick Volleyball Tournament.

The squad fully embraced the tournament tradition, hitting the courts ‘dressed in style’ and rightfully taking home the award for the Best Dressed Team!
But the flair didn't stop at their outfits! Their performance on the sand and court was just as impressive.

After non-stop action and high-intensity rallies, the results speak for themselves: 1st Place Finish, 3rd Place Finish and the Best Dressed Award!

Well done to all of our teams and participants!

Coastguards Beach in Mothecombe became a sea of protest as part of a massive nationwide "paddle out" demanding cleaner, safer waters for everyone.
This powerful event was organised in collaboration with Surfers Against Sewage and local environmental action group WATER "Wild About The Erme River".

The River Erme travels directly through Ivybridge and ends at the mouth of Mothercombe, currently holding one of the poorest water quality levels in the country.

A huge shoutout to two of our own incredible Ivybridge CC students who took to the water to make a difference: Ella Poate (Yr 7) Ozzy Godfrey (Yr 9)

We are incredibly proud of Ella and Ozzy for their brilliant community work and dedication to protecting our local environment. They are stepping up, raising their voices, and fighting for a cleaner, healthier future for our rivers and seas.

A massive congratulations to our incredible Year 10 Elite football squad, who took home the silverware after an absolute battle in the Devon Cup final!

The team faced a tough challenge against Churston Grammar School, but secured a thrilling 2-1 victory!

To the entire squad: your hard work all season has officially paid off.
We could not be any prouder of how you represented the school and dominated on the pitch. Bring on the next chapter!

Huge congratulations to Millie Hatfield on her incredible performance with SJ Performing Arts!

Millie took centre stage as the lead in Matilda, and we could not be prouder of everything she achieved. Since September, she has shown immense dedication and commitment, spending most of her weekends in rehearsals alongside the talented SJ musical theatre cast.

Seeing the hard work, determination, and pure passion that Millie and her fellow performers poured into this production has been nothing short of inspiring.

Taking on a role as iconic and demanding as Matilda is no small feat, but Millie rose to the challenge with:
⭐Confidence
⭐Immense Talent
⭐A true love for the stage

Watching her shine during the performance was such a special moment for everyone involved. We are so incredibly proud of Millie and the entire cast for putting on such a fantastic, high-energy show!

Bravo, Millie! Keep shining!

World-Class Achievement on the Water!

Huge congratulations to our very own Head of Physical Education, Naomi Philpot, who competed in the World Pilot Gig Championships in the stunning Isles of Scilly earlier this month!

Facing off against a massive field of 136 elite ladies' crews from across the globe, Naomi and her team powered through the waves to secure an incredible 4th place in the world!

"Not the podium we were after, but very proud of our crew and performance." says Naomi Philpot

Naomi continues to lead by example, showing our students exactly what it takes to compete at the highest international level.
We are proud to have a world-class athlete heading up our PE department!

Huge congratulations to Sophie Gilvear, who has been selected for the Scotland U18s Six Nations squad!⭐

Sophie has been called up to represent her country as Fly-Half, a pivotal role that reflects her exceptional tactical awareness, kicking precision, and leadership on the pitch. This is a phenomenal achievement and a testament to her incredible dedication and hard work.

Representing your country at the Six Nations is a dream for many, and we are bursting with pride to see an Ivybridge student reaching such elite heights in the sport. We look forward to following Sophie’s journey through the tournament!

Huge congratulations to our Under 18 Senior Girls Volleyball Squad, who secured a fantastic victory in their SW Volleyball League fixture.

The team made the trip to Avanti Garden School in Bristol for a 10:00 am start and put in a clinical performance to claim the win. It was a brilliant display of teamwork and skill, and a great step forward in their league campaign.

Well done to the whole squad for their commitment and for representing the College so well on the road! 🌟🙌

A huge well done to our Year 10 Girls Football Team who faced a tough fixture against Mount Kelly.🙌

While the result didn't go our way this time, we couldn't be prouder of the squad. The girls showed incredible determination on the pitch and maintained a positive attitude from the first whistle to the last.

It’s that resilience and team spirit that defines our athletes! We go again in the next one.
