Writing your emotions... 🖋️
Sometimes when I'm feeling blue, I write my emotions down. I don't worry about how it looks or sounds, I allow myself to explore everything I'm feeling. I find it helps me understand my emotions and get everything off of my chest.
This pandemic has been a nightmare for us all, and I would recommend people use this tip when they're feeling emotional.
Whilst I personally wouldn't use the first draft of this raw writing, some of the emotions you bring up may also inspire you to write.
The Writer's Room is a safe space to share work, no matter what the topic is or the skill level you consider yourself to be, we will be here to listen/read and give feedback.
In the unlikely event any wellbeing incidents do occur, feel free to message this page and we will try to help.

Check out our Chair's new podcast on starting uni 🤳
The podcast called is called Tallulah Talks and the 5th episode ("Ahh it's time to go to uni!") gives an honest insight to her experience at university 📚

You can listen to Megan on Spotify, Anchor, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast or wherever you listen to your podcasts, all you have to do is is search ‘ Tallulah Talks ‘ 🤳

You can also follow her Instagram page
Megan has only just started and would love feedback on her podcasts!
If you want more information feel free to message her 😊

Sharing this not only because she's the Chair 🙈 but because starting uni is a big step and it can be useful to hear advice from someone who's lived through it 😊

This year is going to be different, but we will keep the society running and have a safe space for you to share and talk about creative writing.
We will share our plans once they are finalised, but it's looking like we will be starting our sessions online for now. As we are a society, we ultimately will follow the Covid guidelines we are given and make sure that we do everything safely.
I personally felt disheartened when I heard most things will still be online, and I'm sorry if you felt the same reading that. We would love everything to be in person, but safety has to come first.
It is really important to stay connected and stay social with other people, especially if you're new to Plymouth.
We have a members group chat for you to talk in and we will give information about our online sessions at a later date. We hope that our society can be one of the ways that you can stay connected to your university experience.
There will be a day when Covid is over. Until then, we will do all we can to help you feel connected to others who love creative writing.
Stay safe and look after yourself, mentally and physically.

Welcome to the new wellbeing account for the Writer's Room!
During these strange times, we decided to create this account to spread positivity and create a safe space for our members to contact with any wellbeing issues in the society.
We will be posting wellbeing tips and encouraging a safe atmosphere in the society so that everyone, no matter how experienced, feels comfortable sharing their work.
