10 students will each receive £1,000 thanks to the Santander UK Brighter Futures Grant

Whether it's helping with rent, bills, study equipment or everyday living costs, winners can spend the money however they choose.

All students are eligible to enter, including undergraduates, postgraduates, part-time, and full-time students. You don’t need to bank with Santander to apply.

What does a day in the life of a paramedic student look like?

We spent the day with Millie as she took part in a major incident training exercise. The scenario? A staged gas explosion with multiple casualties. Our students worked alongside volunteer casualties, as well as real ambulance crews, firefighters and mountain rescue teams. They had to assess, triage and treat patients under pressure in a fast-paced realistic environment.
