INSPIRE Dental Showcase

Dear Students,


The INSPIRE scheme is designed to engage medical, dental and veterinary undergraduates with research. To do this the Academy of Medical Sciences offers funding to medical, dental and veterinary schools across the country, which allows us to deliver locally designed activities aimed at informing and indeed inspiring students about the benefits and potential of a career in research.

In a Dental-only event, here is a great opportunity to showcase your Dental-related research (if you have already engaged in some and I know many of you have) and to hear from 3 experienced clinical academics from Bristol, Cardiff and Plymouth Dental Schools over 3 webinars.

The deadline is imminent for abstracts (20th April) but it would be great to see as many of you as possible at all 3 events, where you have the opportunity to showcase your previous completed research either by poster or oral presentation in a safe and informal environment. Importantly, you can see how research has indeed shaped and help develop the careers of 3 experienced clinical colleagues.

It is almost time for DentSoc's 2021 AGM! Unfortunately, we have had to make some unexpected changes to the AGM this year due to COVID-19. For more information, please refer to this, "Peninsula Dental Society AGM 2021-22" document:

• How much time does DentSoc take up: each role is a full-time position and your dedication to the role will be required for the entire year.

• Deadline to apply: noon, Wednesday 7th April 2021.

• Hustings: this will be held online.

• Results expected to be released: Saturday 10th April 2021.

• Handover period: May-June 2020.
