🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of Opening Doors to Opportunity

Today marks a very special milestone as Odils Learning Foundation celebrates 25 years since opening its doors on 9th October 2001.

What began as a vision by Cassie and Russell Roberts to help people learn English, build connections and feel at home in their community has grown into a vibrant organisation supporting over 10,000 people from more than 60 nationalities.

For 25 years we've been empowering people through language, education and opportunity. Thank you to every student, volunteer, staff member, supporter and partner who has been part of our journey.

🚘🚦⚠️ ESOL Driving Theory for women ⚠️🚦🚘

This week at the Mount Wise Neighbourhood Centre we ran a women only Driving Theory Test workshop in ongoing collaboration with Zebra Collective.

The women completed tasks related to identifying road signs, discussed how to identify and anticipate potential hazards and how to safely overcome them.

The session was well attended with attendees reporting feeling more confident and finding it a useful workshop.

As a group we decided to continue to incorporate it into our weekly sessions along with ‘Chop and Chat’ and conversation/task based activities to practise and improve confidence in English.

Community Support Making a Real Difference ❤️

Big thank you to Joan from Baby Basics Plymouth for supporting one of our families at Odils who has recently given birth by donating this pram and car seat.

Joan, Diane and the fantastic team of volunteers based at St Peter and the Holy Apostle in Stonehouse support vulnerable families with starter kits for new mums and babies.

They have supported a number of families at Odils and we are very grateful for their support and hard work.

Also a very big thank you for the sensory toys and playthings they also donated to our creche today! Baby Basics not only supports local families, but sends donations directly to Ukraine to support families in need there.
