Marine Station Plymouth University This is the official University of Plymouth Marine Station page. It is the shoreside base for our fleet and professional dive team.

It provides information on the academic activity, fieldwork and events that happen at the University of Plymouth Marine Station, situated on the city's waterfront at Coxside. Plymouth University has redeveloped its waterfront campus at Coxside, between the National Marine Aquarium and Queen Anne's Battery. The brand-new £4.91m Marine Station is now complete and provides excellent facilities to sup

Congratulations to the 2026 cohort of MRes Scientific Diving students on completing the HSE SCUBA course. This qualification is included in the program and allows the students to progress onto the next stage of their studies.

has just started the MRes Scientific Diving here at the University of Plymouth. We will follow him and the rest of his cohort throughout the course.

The first step is to complete the HSE SCUBA qualification. We consider this to be the minimum industry standard for scientific diving, and is covered as part of the MRes.
