We are delighted that Radiohead are celebrating Global Outdoor Learning Day on 21st November by launching their first UK Tour in seven years.

If you can't get tickets to the O2 arena on the 21st, there's always our 'Follow the Sun' International Conference to fall back on. Bookings are now open for the 2-day, pan-continental event, focusing on cultural exchange and building long-lasting partnerships.

Follow the Sun opens at 13:30 GMT on 21st November with keynote speakers from Pakistan (Naila Kiani) and Canada (Pat Maher), and is themed 'What is Outdoor Learning For?'

Save your boarding pass below and scan it for further information and to buy early-bird tickets. We are also curating a Spotify playlist for the Conference with a selection of World Music chosen by workshop presenters and speakers to celebrate the event. We had better add Radiohead to it!

In first year we begin to develop our graduate skills by considering The Outdoor Professional with a comprehensive overview of the skills and competencies required to be an outdoor educator. It emphasizes the diverse skills essential for effective outdoor teaching, including technical, interpersonal, and decision-making abilities. Discussing a wide range of competencies, from environmental understanding and risk management to instructional skills and coaching techniques. Overall, the topic provides valuable insights into the multifaceted nature of outdoor education and the career development of outdoor educators (Howard, 2024; Brown et al, 2015).

Before we begin preparing for a new academic new year it’s important to finish the last in style. Here’s some memorable moments from our Leadership in the Mountains module. We climbed under, over and through the Eyrie National Park whilst staying at the wonderful Plas Caerdeon Outdoor Education Centre, where we were truly nurtured! A special thanks to graduate for overseeing our stay and taking us mining. Some students also successfully completed their Mountain Leader Training (Summer) with the super educator Vicky
