MLA College MLA College provides online and distance learning degrees, in the Marine and Maritime sector

MLA College offers Higher Education degree qualifications in Partnership with the University of Plymouth. Adding to the established Hydrographic Academy courses, new programmes include undergraduate and postgraduate degree qualifications in Sustainable Maritime Operations for Seafarers (Deck and Engineer), and Master's programmes in Hydrography, Meteorology, Oceanography, Navigation and Engineering for Marine Professionals. MLA College is a provider of online and distance learning degrees in a range of Maritime and Marine based subjects. We offer both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees which are taught by distance learning, both online and offline, allowing students to obtain a relevant degree in Maritime and Marine subjects whilst balancing their careers and other life commitments. We are an award winning educational provider with all our degree programmes being fully validated by the University of Plymouth. Currently we offer fully tutor-supported undergraduate and postgraduate distance learning courses in Hydrography through our Hydrographic Academy. The Hydrographic Academy provides educational qualifications designed specifically to meet the needs of marine industry professionals and employers working in the field of hydrographic surveying. For those interested in marine and maritime business and management we offer distance learning undergraduate and postgraduate degree qualifications in Sustainable Maritime Operations, these e-learning degrees are perfect for all types of seafarers. Both the MSc and BSc in Sustainable Maritime Operations (SMO) are designed to give world class qualifications and provide you with a wide array of both maritime subject-specific and transferable business and managerial skills. The SMO programmes will allow you to reach your desired professional goals and enhance your career in the maritime and marine industries. On Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Davide Esposito, an Italian student currently living in Chicago, USA, to MLA College in London!

Davide is studying our Access Course in Sustainable Maritime Operations, and his visit was a wonderful opportunity to turn a connection built across continents into a face-to-face meeting.

A particularly special moment was Davide meeting Hiya Jaiswal, our Student Recruitment Advisor, who supported him throughout his journey to joining MLA College.

At MLA College, distance learning is about more than studying from anywhere in the world. It's about building meaningful connections and ensuring our students feel supported, wherever they are based.

Three members of MLA College’s senior academic leadership will play key roles at the 17th International Conference on Global Security, Safety and Sustainability (ICGS3-26) this November.

Professor Hamid Jahankhani, Chief Academic Officer at MLA College, will serve as General Chair, while Prof. Mohammad Dastbaz, Principal and CEO, and Professor John Chudley, Rector, are members of the International Steering Committee.

This year’s theme, ‘Harnessing Space for the Benefit of Humanity’, will bring together academics, practitioners and policymakers to explore topics including space governance, AI, cyber security, satellites and drones, post-quantum computing and digital governance.

Their involvement reflects MLA College’s growing contribution to international conversations around emerging technology, security, governance and sustainability.

This week, our new students took part in MLA College’s online Induction Week, meeting the teams who will support them throughout their studies and getting familiar with the guidance, systems and services available to them.

From Programme Management and Student Experience to Technical Support, Administration and Finance, Induction Week is designed to help students understand how their studies will work, where to find support and what they can expect as they begin their journey with MLA.
