It was fantastic to meet so many new students who are keen to continue their Welsh language journey, as well as staff who are planning to sign up for our courses next month.

Meet Sarah Siswrn! 🥾🎨💚

From cheering on Wales at Euro 2016 to becoming a Welsh tutor, artist, librarian and Welsh Language Champion, Sarah Merton’s Welsh-learning journey has taken her much further than the classroom.

Sarah started learning Welsh with Coleg Gwent **nine years ago**, after hearing Welsh spoken among the crowds in France and realising just how important the language is to our national culture.

Since then, she has:
✨ Set up a weekly Clwb Cymraeg at Abertillery Library
✨ Helped learners build confidence and pass their exams
✨ Been recognised as a Welsh Language Champion
✨ Run creative Clwb Collage sessions through the medium of Welsh
✨ Taught the very same Mynediad course she once studied herself!

And her advice to new learners?
💬Relax, enjoy it and do what you already love – but in Welsh!
