2 YEAR FULLY FUNDED VOCATIONAL SIXTH FORM (OCR) IN ACTING

We are thrilled to be able to offer this FULLY FUNDED 2 year course in Acting for students who are considering a professional career in the industry. Equivalent to an extended BTEC/3 A-Levels, this Oxford, Cambridge and RSA (OCR) highly vocational qualification provides those aged 16-19 years with a level 3 award. Being based at Lighthouse

, Poole’s Centre for the Arts (the biggest arts centre outside London), you’ll be in the hub of a professional and artistic venue with creative projects going on around you all the time.

1 YEAR DIPLOMA COURSE IN ACTING & MUSICAL THEATRE

On this course you will begin to realise your true potential. This combined course in Acting & Musical Theatre has been created for you to discover your path in the world of Performing Arts. In just one enlightening year you will develop your core skills for performance and be prepared for the next step on your journey to become a professional performer. At the end of the course you will also take the Trinity ATCL level 4 exam. PART TIME ADULT COURSES - 21 yrs +

The DSA offers part time acting classes for adults using '"The Process" acting technique as it's basis. This is the DSA's own systematical approach to creating truthful acting for both stage and screen. The Dorset School of Acting run various intensive courses throughout the year which are designed for all levels of ability from beginners to professionals. PERFORMING ARTS YOUTH COURSES

DSA has various classes for students aged 5-21 years:

ACTING CLASSES take place weekly during two hours. Students will have the opportunity to focus purely on acting rather than dancing and singing. Classes focus on developing students’ acting skills through improvisation, devising and script work. Students work towards a main productions at local professional venues. MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES also take place weekly and concentrate on a variety of dance styles, vocal coaching & singing along with acting technique from games and exercises to building character and relationship work. PERFORMING ARTS CLASSES are for our younger members and whilst learning theatre techniques through dancing, singing and acting the classes are focused on building confidence and life skills.
