Another of SJC Sporting Stars is Harriet who is really looking forward to the Hampshire School Trampolining Competition on 12th December, the first competition since December 2019 due to the Pandemic.
Harriet has been trampolining since she was 6 years old, initially joining Portsmouth Trampolining and Gymnastics Club at Priory School. She then moved to Portsmouth Trampolining Club in September 2019 in Stamshaw, giving her the opportunity to receive more specialist and one to one coaching to develop her technique and performance further.
Harriet will be representing SJC in The Hampshire School Trampolining Competition in Haslemere, against students from schools across Hampshire. If she progresses through this competition, the next round will be the Southern Schools Competition in January and then the National School Competition in March. Good Luck Harriet.

Warrior class in lower school have been working on mystical creatures and shoebox theatre. James in year 4 has created his character called Blobby Mcblobby.
The group challenge was to write a short piece of script for their characters and to perform it using the stick puppets they made inside their shoebox theatre 😊.
As part of the 'A Midsummers Night Dream' studies, our Year 6 students are composing some magical music in their performing arts lessons. This week, they explored composers and music that has a magical theme, and Harry Potter definitely qualifies! Very well done Elijah!
Year 6 have been learning about Stomp, junk percussion and note values in performing arts. Yesterday, Ed recorded hi rhythms using a Celebrations box and a pen. 🎼
Another great monologue by Matthew, from our Year 8 Performing Arts class! Keep up the hard work 😁
This term Year 8 has been learning about monologues in Performing Arts. Last week they looked at inanimate object monologues and were set a task to find a household item and write, rehearse and record a monologue for this item, thinking about what it would be like to be this inanimate object.
Here is Monty's monologue!
