University of Portsmouth Dance

We have club classes once a week where dancers of all abilities can come and learn routines to three different dance styles. Spinnaker Sports Centre every Wednesday:

Jazz/Commercial: 2-3pm
Contemporary: 3-4pm
Hip Hop: 4-5pm


The University of Portsmouth Dance Club is one of Portsmouth’s best social clubs that lives up to working hard and partying harder!! With a wide variety of dance styles, UPD

C caters for everyone who loves to dance and meet new people. Whether you are dancing for fitness or dancing to follow your creative dance skills, UPDC is a great way of showing passion towards dance. If you believe you have what it takes and feel you have enough passion for dance, why not try out and audition for squad. This is a great opportunity to pursue your talents and become a part of the dance family that train extra hours during the week in order to compete against other Universities all over the country! The latest performances have included regular performances at Liquid and Envy in the city centre of Portsmouth. Other achievements this year lead to many wins at dance competitions for UPDC in Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Jazz and Tap styles at Loughborough University and also Northampton University. After all the hard work and training, UPDC arrange weekly socials who aim to make sure you let loose and party hard at the chosen themed social events! The socials are fun nights out and encourage everyone to get to know each other and have a great time. Finally UPDC is a great way of showing your passion for dance and become part of the AU sports society at The University of Portsmouth!
