This week, we were delighted to welcome our February intake of postgraduate researchers to the University of Portsmouth. Our two-day induction event, 'Getting Started with Your Research', was held at the beautiful Queens Hotel in Portsmouth - and the sun was shining!

Our induction event is designed to provide new PGRs with the opportunity to meet fellow research degree students, receive introductions to key personnel within the Doctoral College, and gain an understanding of what makes doctoral-level postgraduate study unique and how to prepare for it.

We had presenters from across the University, including academic staff and professional services staff, all sharing their invaluable knowledge to help our PGRs succeed. Each day concluded with a panel session where attendees could ask questions to our PGR staff leads and current PGR students - because no question is a silly question; everyone was a new PGR once!

Thank you to all who attended! We are grateful for your feedback, which included these wonderful comments:

"It was a brilliant two-day induction. The lecturers were engaging and very informative." - Liam

"A wonderful induction process full of relevant information, delivered well and in bite-sized amounts. I enjoyed the two-day induction very much." - Alex

"Very enjoyable event! Well worth doing." - Roy

"Every aspect of the induction was awesome." - Timi
