A special message from Ben Jacklin, UK Chief Executive of Medivet!

We sat down with Ben at our recent Summer School (delivered in partnership with Medivet & Partners) to ask him how he felt knowing that students from our very first cohort would soon be joining us to begin the next stage of their veterinary journey.

“I’m thrilled that a number of students who attended this programme last year have now secured places at vet school.”

He went on to share some great advice, encouraging students to enjoy every moment and embrace every new learning opportunity ahead.

One week. Countless new experiences. Endless possibilities. 🐾✨

Our 2026 Veterinary Summer School has come to a close, and what an incredible week it’s been! 🩺🤩

In collaboration with Medivet & Partners, we welcomed aspiring veterinary students from underrepresented backgrounds for a week of hands-on learning, clinical skills, animal handling and career inspiration.

From developing practical veterinary techniques, exploring comparative anatomy, hearing from veterinary professionals to getting hands-on with animal handling at Myerscough College & University Centre and meeting a variety of animals, every day brought new experiences and opportunities to learn. 🐴🐄🐰🐶

A huge thank you to our staff, student ambassadors, Medivet and everyone at Myerscough College who helped make the week such a success. 💙

We’re excited to see what the future holds for these aspiring vets! 🌟🐾
