Procrastination Wit – do any resonate with you?

1. Procrastinators unite! Tomorrow.

2. Why did the procrastinator give up jogging? He didn't want to rush into it.

3. I don't procrastinate. I just prioritise last-minute panic.

4. I always start my work early. I just finish it late.

5. What do procrastinators do best? They'll get back to you on that.

6. If you wait till the last minute, it only takes a minute!

7. Why did the procrastinator cross the road? To get to it... eventually.

8. Why did the procrastinator never finish his novel? He couldn't find the right "write" time.

9. When does a procrastinator's workday begin? When the deadline looms!

10. How do procrastinators start their New Year? By postponing the resolutions.

We share the sad news that our founder, b**b chief, colleague, friend and queen of glittering turds, Kris, has died.

Kris was the biggest promoter of being ‘alive to do those things’. She approached life in a wildly creative, fun and fearless way, and showed us that it is possible to live life to the full with cancer.

In 2009 Kris was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at the age of 23, after being turned away from her GP for over a year. By the time she was diagnosed, it was terminal. Kris’ ambition was for no one else to find themselves in her position and so CoppaFeel! was born, to ensure breast cancers are diagnosed early and accurately.

Kris has reached millions of people with her message of health advocacy and empowerment, successfully campaigned for cancer education to be included in the school curriculum, won the Women of the Year Outstanding Young Campaigner award, received an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration from Nottingham Trent University and wrote a Times Best Selling book: Glittering a Turd.

Kris’ life mission was that CoppaFeel! would no longer need to exist, with late diagnosis of breast cancer eradicated in her lifetime. We are committed to continuing Kris’ legacy, to ensure that everyone has the best chance of living a happy and healthy life. If you’d like to support this mission, you can donate at the link in our bio.

For 15 years Kris had been living with secondary breast cancer. She hasn’t lost a battle, she wasn’t in a fight and she certainly wouldn’t want you to see her death as tragic. She was simply living. She was 38 and died with fulfilment and a heart full of love.

Kris’ family have one request - for peace and privacy to allow them the time and space needed to process Kris’ death. We would like to thank our community for your love and messages of support and kindly ask that you respect the family’s wishes at this time.

Please remember the amazing life Kris led and the things she achieved, but above all else honour her memory by checking your chest…it could just save your life.

‘Trust your body, believe in hope, leave room for miracles.’ Kris Hallenga

With love from all at CoppaFeel! HQ x

I'm posting a show off post because some of you think I don't really do anything all day apart from post silly things...

This is what I do with my day along with my coaching.

Oooer another milestone reached 50,000 students in my online courses! I have 10 online courses.

I can remember sometime last year being in a group where my achievement 30k students was knocked back by someone who said courses on Udemy are just in a marketplace - tis true!

This was a criticism from someone who has hardly sold any courses on a a different platform.

It is actually hard to create online courses to the standards that Udemy ask for and even harder to grow your audience.

I'm not one of the top Udemy Instructors but even so I am really proud of my achievement :) .

But also the online courses have paid my bills during my cancer operations and treatment - there is no sick pay when you are self-employed. And also saw me through lockdown when again there was no support for sole traders like myself.

If you want to create an online course I have a great coaching and support package.

I call this the “hoopster” with clients who come to me wanting to prepare for an “opportunity”.

Also in my mind it’s a sign that this job / contract is going to be a problem even if successfully navigated through.

Lengthy processes are a key sign the decision maker has a very narrow understanding of behaviour traits.

In this case the good go elsewhere.

People sometimes buy expensive coaching programmes believing the hype and then realise that actually there is nothing of substance in the programme.

Some people even believe that they are the problem and are left with self doubt.

It enrages me.

I had one such conversation with someone who was in this position.

She had spent thousands ( at least £5k) and had almost no success whatsoever.

So in general conversation I asked a few questions about her approach and what her business was about. Some might say it was a coaching conversation - I can't really help being me. I am a coach.

I just couldn't understand why she was targeting the customers she was. It was just because she thought she liked that customer. Her marketing message was all over the place. None of it making sense.

In my mind I was wondering who on earth was encouraging this. She didn't understand the sector at all including the language used in that sector. But also being a novice in business. A recipe for failure. Not understanding who you are selling to but also not really understanding business.

Part of coaching is about challenge and I could see that despite paying over £5k she wasn't being challenged.

I did challenge her.

Almost a year later I noticed her marketing again now targeting a customer who is she is much more familiar with in a sector she knows and has more credibility in. It appears my conversation ( unpaid coaching) has filtered through.

Thank you - you can pay me later ( a quicker result and cheaper!).

If you have been stung by some of the bling from a coaching programme and got nowhere maybe it's time to work with a 121 coach just for you.

I'm here!

I love my 121 clients.

You see it is a privilege to work with people who want to improve.

Sometimes it is just improving themselves or alternatively if they are a leader then improving how they do their job.

Both roads lead to the same destination. The destination that we are all in pursuit of often without realising it.

Happiness, life satisfaction, contentment or as Maslow named "self-actualisation"

So whether you want to improve yourself or how you manage people or how you do your job then it is all good

What would make you happier in life? And what are you doing to get there?

I'm a big fan of companies who have identified their culture and the values and behaviours (competencies) that underpin it.

Done well then the cultural behaviours are easy to "live" because you can recruit the right people and also develop their behaviours in line with the company values / behaviours and the creme de la creme you are developing a great succession plan. But crucially when everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet then the value to the customer increases which of course means the company is more successful. Everyone wins.

All too often though the values / behaviours are not thought through, or are just words on a document somewhere. There is no framework. People aren't recruited based on behaviours and people don't talk up the behaviours and managers don't demonstrate the behaviours. Sometimes employees don't even know there are company values.

Many leaders recognise this and have another go at creating cultural values and behaviours because they don't understand why everyone doesn't get it.

There is a simple solution well I think it is simple. The "devil is in the detail" but it doesn't need to be complicated or rather keeping it simple does make it easier to implement and bring to life.

My confession is that I am a behaviour geek. My dissertation for my Executive Coaching qualification 20 yrs ago was about culture, values and behaviours. I love it because getting it right can have real impact on the people in a team / organisation and of course company success.

Do you want to get the culture right in your team?
Do you have values and need to bring them to life more?

Let me know
