The bar society would just like to take a moment to wish you all the very best of luck with the exams that are coming up in the next few weeks. We know these are exceptional times but guess what, you are all exceptional people too! You have got this far. You can do this.

We are all in this together. We can do this together.

Good luck!

How would you feel if I told you that there were key workers who face financial ruin as a result of Covid-19? Would you feel that the Government should do more to support them? What if I told you that these key workers are criminal barristers doing publicly funded work? Do you still feel sympatheti...

Thank you all so much for re-electing me as your Bar Society chair for the third year. I can not wait to make this year the best.

I feel truly grateful and blessed.

I cannot wait to make big changes moving forward. Obviously with my gorgeous friend Jess Crosland . We came, we saw, we conquered.

Thank you all so much. I must be doing something right.

Hi everyone! This is the final push with voting.
I want you to know some personal things about me to help you understand why I feel i am very well equipped to be the law school president.

I’ll get to why I am telling you these things and if you have been so kind as to have read my manifesto; this will make sense.

Here’s what I have done;

1- first year I did my mediation course
2- became an associate arbitrator after doing the course at UCLan
3- won the mediation comp back at year 1. ( gosh that was ages ago)
4- won the negotiation comp
5- went to Cyprus to arbitrate with uni
6- been a course rep ( first year)
7- ambassador for breaking barriers network
8- helped staff with events
9- been the bar society vice one year and chair for the past 2. I hope I make it to my third and final.
10- law society vice chair
11- helped at law fairs
12- trips to London with the bar
13- mini puppilages
14- public speaker for my local children’s in care.
15- i have my own mediation business which I’m happy fo students to observe
16- I took a year out due to skin cancer and it was hard as I felt bad but I want everyone to know, taking time out is not failure. It’s perfectly normal
17- was absent last year on and off due to my daughter being seriously unwell.
18 law clinic volunteer
19-I picked myself up and now I help as many as I can with issues and support.
20- I have had many appeals and I’ve been successful in every one. ( yet they say the chance of success is slim) I always put a good case forward.
I’ll do the same for you if you vote for me.

I’ve seen many changes throughout my time at the law school, many. Some good, some which the presidents at the time helped tweak and amend. We still have a long way to go and I feel I can be the voice and presence for you all to do this.

I’m not ever one to shy away from issues as long as they are just.

I give you my promise that if you do vote for me, you will see how much I aim to make changes but only with your suggestions and backing.

I’d like to meet with you all on a set date for a feedback meeting. I think it’s important to be approachable. I hope those that have seen me and met me, know that.

I am so passionate about the bar society too and this year if I am re-elected, I will hopefully be merging the two societies pending a discussion with the members and staff.

I want you all to get the most from this experience. It can be amazing and it can also be very frustrating!

I will try my best to help with the Hub and lack of consistency. Don’t we just love the ad-hoc approach 🙈
It’s time for changes and I can only put these forward if you vote for me.

Please read the manifestos of all candidates and make your choice wisely. I think we are on a record number of votes accords the board and that is amazing.

Who ever gets elected will make a great president. We all have our strengths and weakness so pick wisely.

So please vote ( for me for president and bar society chair)

Good morning everyone!

What a glorious morning it is as well.... I’m loving seeing all the posts on here from candidates from across the school.
Voting is now OPEN!

I’ve voted in every category based on the manifestos I’ve read. Please make your votes count. I hope I did.

Don’t forget I’m running for school president and chair of the bar society.
I would really appreciate your votes.

I may not have the best visual campaign but am very passionate about the school and the bar society and I’ve faced every single issue possible ( as such)
I’m pretty sure there’s not a lot I can’t relate to or empathise with.
Wouldn’t you want someone with my experience being your president?
I know if I went to see a brain surgeon or any surgeon I’d like to have the most qualified with the most experience.
That’s me for the law school.
( analogies are not my strong point, drinking cocktails is a strong point)

I’m cheering every person on who is a candidate and I wish you all the best of luck!

VOTE NOW!

( for me, of course!) 👩‍⚖️

Hi Everyone! Just me....

Right; well I waited until today to let others campaign as you see enough of my posts daily. However, today you will see me on all platforms. Why? You may be asking

It’s because I’m running for Law School President.

Yes, that’s right. You can have me fighting your corner and being your voice.

What can I bring that is any different to the other candidates? ( who are great by the way)

Experience
- I have 4 years worth of law studies behind me. Yes 4.
-I’ve had to re sit a year with good cause.
-I’ve faced every hurdle possible within my time at UCLan.
-I’ve had many ups and many downs.
- I am not afraid to speak up. The louder the better as long as it’s for the greater good.

I have great, established relationships with the law school staff so approachability is not ever going to be an issue. I will use this as a stepping stone to improve the student experience.

I am to work closely with the SU and the school and support everyone in their campaigns for better change.

Did I mention whilst I am good at talking, I am also a fantastic listener. I like to think I’ve helped many people since I started my journey. I’m always available to listen. Although if judge Judy is on, you may have to wait 30 mins.

No, on a serious note; please look at all the manifestos, look at presence. Vote for the person who you feel can deliver an exceptional output.

Vote for me for law School President!

Thank you.
