Q: What is FoMSF UCLan? Having just established in December 2016, we recently became part of the world-wide student group called "Friends of MSF" that supports Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). As MSF is an independent & self-funding organisation, most of its funds come from private donations. Therefore, efforts by the

"Friends of MSF" really do make a difference and help improve the lives of people around the world. FoMSF UCLan welcomes anyone (students/staffs) who has an interest in MSF's work, irregardless of any medical background. Our society will host several events throughout the academic year. Entry for all events are open to both members and non-members! We look forward to having you on board! Q: Why don't I need a medical background to be part of FoMSF UCLan? MSF an independent non-profit organisation that recruits both medical & non-medical staffs to work on its projects. Here are the different roles within the MSF team:
Medical Doctor, Surgeon, Gynaecologist, Anaesthetist, Paediatrician, Midwife, Pharmacist, Biomedical Scientist, Nurse, Mental Health Officer, Health Promoter, Epidemiologist, Supply logistician, HR/Finance, administrator, All-round logistician, WATSAN, Finance coordincator, HR coordinator, Communications officer, Humanitarian affairs officer, Project coordinator

Simply put, everybody is welcomed can join us! Médecins Sans Frontières, also known as Doctors without Borders, is an independent medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid in more than 60 countries to victims of armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters or exclusion from healthcare. With 2019 SU elections just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about what kind of role you'd like to have not only on campus, but the type of impact you'd like to have on the world.
As a part of Friends of MSF, you'll gain experience working in conjunction with an International organisation and create the leadership foundation you can use to ascend to executive positions, potentially on and off campus.
