🐾 Real-life learning in action! 🐾

Our January DR group recently welcomed qualified pet physiotherapist Rachel and her lovely four-legged assistant for an insightful, hands-on session exploring pet physiotherapy and rehabilitation. 🐶
As part of their training, our students had the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of pet physio, observe rehabilitation techniques and explore how these can support patients within the veterinary setting.
Experiences like these are invaluable, helping our learners connect theory to practice, develop their understanding of patient care and gain insight into the different ways we can support animal health, recovery and wellbeing. 💚
A huge thank you to Rachel and her lovely assistant for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our students!

Awarded for “supporting students and qualified nurses and making that our priority on the stand”
That’s the icing on the cake after a really nice couple of days at Congress. It’s our 1st time here for a few years and we’ve all really enjoyed talking to the other stand holders and the visitors to our stand. We’re here to officially launch 4 new courses for qualified RVN’s, there has been a lot of interest and excitement about them. We’re still here tomorrow and will share the details about the courses on here soon 🍾🎉🥳

A welcome change of scenery yesterday for Placement Officers Louisa and Tracy, who attended an exclusive event hosted by The Webinar Vet at Brockholes, part of the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
Over a delicious lunch, they enjoyed the opportunity to network with fellow veterinary professionals and members of The Webinar Vet team. The afternoon began with an inspiring presentation from The Webinar Vet's founder, Anthony Chadwick, who spoke about the organisation's commitment to sustainability and its support of the Lancashire Wildlife Trust, including helping to fund the rewilding of 40 hectares of pastureland.
Attendees also heard from Lorna of Brockholes, who explained how the reserve is managed and outlined exciting future developments. The site's herd of English Longhorn cattle play a vital role as natural "lawnmowers", and they will soon be joined by an innovative robotic mowing machine to help maintain the reserve.
The day concluded with a guided tour of the reserve, followed by a hands-on conservation activity where participants helped replant a variety of wildflowers and native plants.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day spent in beautiful surroundings, excellent company, and glorious sunshine, while learning more about sustainability and local wildlife conservation.

🏔️ Altra 13 Valleys Ultra 🏃‍♀️
A bit different tom our usual posts but we just wanted to say a huge congratulations to one of our Placement Officers, Lexy, who recently completed the Altra 13 Valleys Ultra – 5 Valleys route in the Lake District.
The challenging 5 Valleys course takes runners from Ambleside to Keswick, covering approximately 61km with over 2,000 m of elevation, through some of the Lake District’s most spectacular and demanding terrain.
This was Lexy’s first ultra marathon, completing the course in an impressive 14 hours and 20 minutes.
After more than 10 years of being in and out of running, and returning to the sport following a broken ankle last year, taking on an ultra was a challenge she decided was worth pursuing.
A fantastic personal achievement and testament to the commitment, resilience and determination required to take on such a demanding event.
Congratulations on becoming an ultra runner! 👏🏔️
Now it might just be time for that well-earned sit down! 😄

Teamwork makes the dream work!Today’s not very exciting task of cleaning and organising the clinical skills suite was made more appealing by the very lovely Jacob’s join lunch that we shared. Needs must though and now we’re all ready to welcome our students back next week
