🎗️ For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the inspiring story of Michelle Lomas.

Michelle was nearing the end of her Adult Nursing degree apprenticeship when she was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer. Following 10 months away from her studies for intensive treatment, Michelle returned determined to complete her degree and fulfil her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. 🩺

With the support of her family, colleagues and University tutor, she graduated and is now working as a community staff nurse.

💬 “It was really tough and there were loads of times when most people would’ve thrown in the towel but that wasn’t me. I was absolutely determined to finish my course, graduate, and fulfil a lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse.”

We’re delighted the first group of students, who attended a pioneering event aimed at breaking down barriers for aspiring vets, have enrolled with us.

Seven of the 20 pupils, who attended our inaugural Medivet & Partners’ sponsored Veterinary Summer School in August last year, have now started training as veterinary professionals at our Preston Campus.
