Dear Students,

Greetings from the International Institute of Korean Studies!

We are currently recruiting 2-3 volunteer student coordinators who will work for the Delegations for Dialogue (DFD) on the UCLan campus.

Delegations for Dialogue (DFD) is an NGO that organises travelling symposiums, fact-finding programs and sports & cultural diplomacy missions within important regions, often divided by conflict, with the aim of facilitating dialogue and promoting mutual understanding. DFD provides future generations of leaders with the opportunity to engage directly with international affairs, particularly with issues related to North and South Koreas. DFD also organises conferences and events locally within our growing network of university campus associations located around the world. You can find more information on DFD on their webpage: http://www.delegations.org/

With the support of the director of the International Institute of Korean Studies (Dr. Niki Alsford), we would like to create a delegation at UCLan. In order to establish the UCLan delegation at our Preston campus we need 2-3 student coordinators who will work along with Dr. Jihye Kim. This VOLUNTEER job will give you a great opportunity to build up your working experience within a worldwide organisation and improve your CVs. The volunteer coordinators will be expected to assist in the preparation and the organisation of the programs on the UCLan campus, as well as be involved with activities off campus eventually. We welcome any students, from any disciplines and programs, who are interested in Korea. The key selection criteria for the voluntary student coordinators are: effective time management, good administrative work skills (such as making and circulating advertisements and emails), excellent communication skills (both writing and speaking), and excellent computer software management skills, among other competencies.

If you are interested in working as a volunteer student coordinator for the UCLan delegation, please send the following documents to Dr. Jihye Kim ([email protected]) by 15 March 2018.
(1) Application form (please copy and paste the application form below and make a separate Word file)
(2) CV
(3) A statement no longer than two pages addressing what previous experiences your have relevant to this position, why you are interested in this voluntary student coordinator position and how you meet the key criteria for the position
You will be notified about the result of the first selection stage by 5 April 2018. The second selection stage (interviews) will be conducted between 9 and 13 April 2018. Finally, the successful candidates will need to check their work rights with the HR department.
