๐Ÿ† A fantastic achievement for Reading College T Level student Nirmaan!

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to share that Nirmaan has been selected as a South East Regional Finalist in the T Level Student category at the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2026! ๐ŸŽ‰

Nirmaan completed his T Level with an outstanding Distinction, achieving the highest Year 2 T Level mark across his cohort at Reading College, an impressive 128 out of 145. ๐ŸŒŸ

A special thank you to Nirmaanโ€™s teacher, Mehwish Khan, who recognised his achievements and took the initiative to nominate him for the award, completing the nomination and supporting him throughout the process. ๐Ÿ‘

Thank you also to Reading Council, Paul Bowers, Preeti Vohra and all the teachers and staff who supported Nirmaan throughout his T Level journey.

Mehwish will join Nirmaan at the Regional Apprenticeship and Skills Awards Ceremony on 14 October, where the regional winner will be announced. Weโ€™ll be keeping our fingers crossed! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ†

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to all our students who are celebrating today after collecting their successful GCSE exam results.

Today is a celebration of your hard work, resilience and determination. Whether you're progressing to your next course, starting an apprenticeship, continuing your studies or exploring new opportunities, we're incredibly proud of everything you've achieved. ๐Ÿ‘

Matthew Douglas, 18, from Maidenhead, is celebrating achieving a 99 grade in Combined Science, a grade 9 in Statistics, and grade 7s in English and maths. Heโ€™s planning to do A Levels in Chemistry, maths and Physics at the college.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œIโ€™d like to say thank you to my teachers for their support. I liked college because unlike school, itโ€™s far less rigid and stressful, which was helpful. Not having to wear a uniform was helpful. The environment is a lot more relaxed."

Caitlin Layug is celebrating after achieving a grade 8 in maths, grades 8,8 in Combined Science and a grade 6 in English. Caitlin is now progressing to study A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

๐Ÿ’ฌโ€œI was expecting a grade 8, and for English, I did not expect to get a six. I was expecting a 5. My friends did well, too.โ€

Access to Higher Education in Paramedic Science student, Mia Rose, 20, from Reading, who was celebrating both her birthday and her results, got a grade 4 in maths, which will now enable her to study Paramedic Science at City St Georgeโ€™s, University of London.

๐Ÿ’ฌโ€œIโ€™d recommend Reading College and University Centre. The staff have been really supportive with both personal and educational support. Theyโ€™ve been amazing.โ€

Craig Rolfe originally came to the college at Functional Skills Entry 1. Since then, over four years, he has done two Pre-Internship Programmes and Preparation for Work courses at the college and is now celebrating after achieving a grade 5 in GCSE maths!

๐Ÿ’ฌโ€œIโ€™ve been working towards this result for eight years, I didnโ€™t get to do it at school, so Iโ€™m pleased I finally got to do them. Believe it or not when I first came to college, I only had Functional Skills Entry 1, so to go from there to GCSE, wow!
