Henley - part of a top 200 university, four years running.

The University of Reading has secured a fourth successive year among the world's top 200 universities in the QS Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings 2027. As part of the University, Henley contributes directly to that result - through the quality of our research, the outcomes of our graduates, and our commitment to sustainability.

The rankings, which evaluate more than 1,500 institutions worldwide, place the University:

🌎 Top 200 globally (196th)
🇬🇧 28th in the UK
🌱 Joint 30th in the world for Sustainability
💼 11th in the UK for graduate employment outcomes (93.2%)
🔎 12th in the UK for research citations

These are areas where Henley plays an active role, and they sit within a university that has improved its overall QS score for five consecutive years. That is the ecosystem Henley is part of - and for our students, that ecosystem matters. It shapes the quality of education, the strength of employer relationships, and the global reputation that follows you beyond graduation.

In episode 9 of the Leadership Unlocked podcast from The Henley Centre for Leadership, Professor Bernd Vogel talks to Leo Harrison, Founder and CEO of talent strategy firm Chapter 2. Leo shares what it really takes to build something from scratch when the world has other plans.

Leo is open about the hard lessons, including a management style that needed to change, and the value of a trusted mentor. He also shares how a chance meeting with entrepreneur Steven Bartlett brought investment and something far harder to put a price on: inspiration.

Henley ranked in the world top 50 in the Financial Times Masters in Finance 2026 rankings

We have maintained our position in the world top 50, ranked 46th globally, 39th in Europe and 7th in the UK - across a field of 70 schools worldwide.

The results reflect consistent performance across some of the measures that matter most to prospective students:

👉 57% average salary increase three years after graduating - UK top three for graduate earnings growth
👉 77% of job-seeking graduates in employment within three months of completing the programme
👉 1st in the UK for international course experience
👉 UK top 10 for diversity across women on the school advisory board, women faculty, and women and international students
👉 Top 15 globally (12th) for carbon footprint reduction
👉 UK top 10 for value for money

Professor George Alexandridis noted: "These results reflect our continued focus on delivering a high-quality, international learning experience that drives meaningful career outcomes."

Our Business Management and Digital Masters students recently came together at our Greenlands campus to celebrate the end of their year, with a sumptuous meal, good conversation, and a boat trip on the Thames.

A Masters challenges you in ways you don't always anticipate. It pushes your thinking, tests your resilience, and shapes the way you approach problems. That's what this day was really celebrating - not just the year itself, but the people they've become along the way.

England vs France in the World Cup final? Maybe it is coming home – at least that’s the prediction a new Performance Football Index (PFI) by Professor Radu Tunaru and student Raphael Rondelot has revealed.

By evaluating each individual player’s performance per 90 minutes, their physical attributes, age and injury history, their new paper reveals the best players and squads heading into the US tournament this month, with France’s Micheal Olise ranked as the best player.

Underrated players from Croatia like Matanovic and Baturina also feature, positioning Croatia as the one to watch in the tournament.

Halfway through the Executive MBA's International Business module immersion and the cohort are well and truly in the thick of it in Singapore.

The first half was spent presenting consulting work directly to the startups they have been advising - sitting across the table from founders and getting honest, unfiltered feedback. Not your average week at the office.

Singapore is not just a backdrop either. Being in one of the world's most important commercial gateways means the city itself is doing some of the teaching.

Still to come - a panel on AI and sustainability, a visit to a global logistics innovation centre, and a well-earned farewell dinner to close things out.

Leadership Unlocked podcast series 2 launches today! 🔓

What does pearl diving have to do with running sales for one of the world's biggest tech consultancies? Quite a lot, it turns out.

In the opening episode of The Henley Centre for Leadership’s Leadership Unlocked podcast series 2, Professor Bernd Vogel sits down with Melanie Christopher, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer at Capgemini - a self-described adventurer whose willingness to say yes to the unconventional shaped every step of her path to the C-suite.

"There's nothing like doing a dangerous job like pearl diving to teach you the true meaning of teamwork."

A Henley alumna with a candid take on gender in the workplace, Melanie suggests that women are over-mentored and under-sponsored and makes a compelling case for leaving the ladder behind. As she puts it, if it gets wobbly while someone else is climbing, she's at the bottom holding it steady.
