We offer flexible learning, with options to study in-person or online.

Join our Summer School!

Functional Skills English can support individuals who are looking to improve basic spelling, punctuation and grammar, reading, writing and verbal communication skills.

You will study fully online, in your own time, and be assessed through PowerPoint presentations, quizzes and questions.

A tutor will support you through the course, and you will receive information weekly so you know what you need to study and complete.

We have two different groups starting soon:

📅 29th June – 31st July
📅 3rd August – 4th September

This is a FREE course for those who do not have an A* to C /9-4 grade GCSE. You will need I.T skills and access to internet, plus a computer or tablet.

A massive shoutout to our health and social care lecturer, Andrew Johnson, who has been shortlisted for TWO national awards.
When Andrew first came up with the idea for the comfort and care package project, giving his students an insight into end-of-life care, he could have had no idea how it would capture people’s imagination.
Since then, it has not only helped shape the learners’ compassion and understanding for this important area of care and delivered for patients and their families facing the most challenging of times, but the project has also received external validation.
Andrew is now in the running for two national awards, first as a finalist in the NCFE Aspiration Awards in the Educator of the Year category AND now The Palliative and End of Life Care Awards.
Shortlisted for the Best Fundraiser, Influencer and Campaigner title, Andrew will attend an awards gala in London in the summer, hosted by TV presenter and journalist Kate Garraway, where winners will be announced.
Well done Andrew, an incredible achievement!
