🏳️‍🌈🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈🌈🏳️‍⚧️

On the 18th May (Redditch) and 19th May (Bromsgrove and Worcester), Student Ambassadors led the HoW Pride cross campus with the help of the Student Experience team.

These events brought together a sense of community and belonging, raising visibility with stalls offering a wide range of activities such as crafts and games.

Alongside the college students, staff, wellbeing teams and the Learning Centres, each campus also welcomed a range of external organisations such as WEST/CAMHS, Bromsgrove library, NHS Sexual health, Police Commissioner, Redditch Pride (with a special guest), Careers Hub, PCSO, and The Hive whose attendance reflected their strong commitment to supporting and celebrating the local LGBTQ+ community.

Our Worcester Level 2 Business Administration students recently held an event on to promote clean air quality in the local area!

The day included a small meet and greet with Worcestershire Regulatory Services, alongside interactive activities such as blowing up a balloon and playing a video game.
Preparation for the event included educational seminars with Worcestershire Regulatory Services where students presented their ideas to promote clean air, a CPD session in communication and leadership from the University of Worcester and completing a life support award from British Heart Foundation Students also designed a video game with the help of AI coding, using their knowledge of clean air to create a resource for the event.

This year, we were delighted to welcome Becky from HSBC on three separate occasions to work with our Hair and Beauty students. 💇🏽‍♀️

Becky delivered engaging and informative sessions covering key topics including fraud awareness and social media safety, the differences between employed and self-employed work, and the importance of managing money responsibly, including understanding overspending and the true value of money.

The sessions were extremely well received, with students describing them as enlightening and highly relevant to their future careers and personal lives. Many shared that the talks encouraged them to reflect on their own financial habits and circumstances, helping them to make more informed decisions moving forward.

It was fantastic to see such high levels of engagement, with students actively participating and gaining valuable life skills that extend beyond the classroom. Opportunities like this highlight the importance of connecting education with industry, and we are grateful to Becky and HSBC for supporting our students’ development in such a meaningful way.
