There once was a banana beside a skip,
Who slipped on a peel and went for a trip!
He landed in rubbish, covered in muck,
And shouted, “Oh no — what terrible luck!”
The skip man laughed, “Don’t worry, mate,
We’ll get you sorted — it’s not too late!”
So banana jumped in with a grin,
And off went the skip with a wobble and spin!

The Hidden Fire Risk in Your Waste Streams 🔥

Lithium batteries are turning up everywhere, in power tools, vapes, laptops and e-scooters.

When they end up in skips or bins, they can ignite without warning. One small battery can cause a major fire on site, in a bin lorry, or even at a recycling centre.

Across the UK, there were 1,300+ lithium battery fires last year, more than three every single day 😳

London saw the highest number of incidents, most starting in mixed waste streams.

These fires spread fast, cause explosions, release toxic gases and put workers, equipment and the community at risk.

Every one of them is preventable! 👇

✅ Keep lithium batteries out of skips and bins
✅ Store them separately
✅ Never crush or compact
✅ Take them to approved battery recycling points

Meet the youngest member of Taylors Skip Hire

Little joey Taylor Andy and Gemma's son celebrated his 1st birthday on Saturday

Little joey was born premature with 3 holes in his heart and diagnosed with down syndrone, after spending a emotional 97 days in East Surrey hospital he was sent home awaiting the list for his heart surgery

In novemeber 2024 we went up to the Royal Brompton in London ready for his surgery and all went well but the worry of having him out for christmas was looming, I think joey knew that and got himself out 2 days before Christmas knowing we hadn't even prepared christmas dinner.

All throughout this Gemma Taylor did not stop grafting ensuring all the drivers had there work, customers had paid even 45 minutes after a c section she had the laptop on her belly.

Happy birthday to Joey and a massive well done to Gemma for keeping the office rolling
