St Nicholas Lodge is proud to have been awarded Vice Patron status for the Provincial Festival 2029.

Through the united endeavours of our brethren and visitors, we have now contributed an outstanding £11,100 to the Festival appeal. This is a tremendous achievement, and heartfelt congratulations go to all who have helped us reach this milestone.

Next stop: Patron!

The Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W. Bro. John Wilkinson, was pleased to present the Vice Patron certificate on behalf of the RW Provincial Grand Master, Mark Iveson.

The certificate was received with great pride by our Worshipful Master, Alastair Yeomans, on behalf of the Lodge.

The proceeds of Festival 2029 will be supporting the Masonic Charitable Foundation, ensuring that the generosity of our Lodge directly contributes to vital national and local charitable work. This makes our achievement even more meaningful, knowing that every pound raised will help improve lives across our communities.

We were honoured to welcome the new Deputy Provincial Grand Master for Yorkshire North & East Ridings, accompanied by a team of active Provincial officers, to our recent meeting.

On this special night, they witnessed a First Degree initiation, where we were delighted to welcome our newest member, Bro. Andrew Tunstall, into Freemasonry. A memorable start to his Masonic journey, shared with distinguished company and supportive brethren.

A proud evening for the lodge and a fantastic milestone for Bro. Tunstall.

In life, there are moments that irrevocably split time in two: the events before and those that follow. For Shane Cooley, this division arrived on 5th September 2005 in the form of a devastating motorcycle accident on the streets of Sydney. What might seem to many as a tragic endpoint instead marks....

Fabulous and enjoyable social night of ten pin bowling followed by a fish a chip supper. Some great bowling, and some not so good! But a great night. Thanks to our social secretary Roger Kaye for organising! Freemasons of Yorkshire N&E Ridings

Why Join the Royal Arch - For the Master Mason, the journey is intentionally incomplete—a tragic cliff-hanger leaving a symbolic void. The Royal Arch provides the essential second half, offering narrative resolution and recovering the genuine lost Word. It is the keystone that completes the allegorical arch, transforming a moral builder into a true spiritual Master and fulfilling the promise of further light.

- An article published in the Oct 2025 Issue of The Square Magazine now available online https://thesquaremagazine.com/mag/article/2025q4why-join-the-royal-arch/

- An independent publication, The Square Magazine brings you in-depth and thought provoking articles of Masonic interest, presented in a contemporary way...

If you like it, please share with lodge members - they will thank you.…
