We've been thinking about European films and all the joy they bring. Film Studies students have been reflecting on cinema from Europe that has captivated them. Second Year student Isaac Holmes shares his passion for the films of Rainer Werner Fassbinder https://shuscreen.com/european-cinema 🎬

Throughout this semester’s European Cinema module, I’ve been lucky enough to have been exposed to some great and diverse cinema from all around the continent. Out of all the cinema I’ve been fortunate enough to encounter while learning no one has managed to hold my attention quite like Rainer ...

Most of our September starters are now enrolled. If you’re still stuck or worried, here are some tips and updates:

⏱️ Enrolment is not always immediate. If your course requires qualification or reference checks, this can delay the process. Make sure you’ve provided us with everything requested on the enrolment form – if you have, there is nothing more you need to do.

✉️ Help is available from [email protected], but the team is very busy. Please be patient if you do not get an immediate reply – they will get to your enquiry as soon as they can.

📆 You DON'T need to be fully enrolled to access your induction schedule. You can access schedules here using your University login: https://blogs.shu.ac.uk/welcome_schedules

💷 If you’re waiting for a loan, you DO need to be fully enrolled for money to be sent through. It should then arrive within 3–5 days. We can provide supermarket vouchers if you run short of funds – see shu.ac.uk/welcome for more.

Enrolment: Students should receive an email by 18 September with an invitation to enrol. Some students may still experience a delay due to their individual circumstances.

Our enrolment phone line and inbox are both currently very busy with enquiries, but we will respond as soon as we can. If you have already contacted us, please don't send repeat emails - we will get to your original message and respond.

More information and support can be found here: https://www.shu.ac.uk/keeping-safe-on-campus/teaching-and-learning

So much film activity coming to and we are beside ourselves with joy!! The re-opens on Friday 18th with Doc/Fest. SHAFF. Celluloid Screams. AND London Film Festival. We are also dusting off the projector in The Void in time for Semester 1.

If you're a new student you can now access your Welcome and Course Induction Schedule - you can find yours by selecting your college and searching for your course, details of which are in your enrolment email. If you haven’t received your enrolment email, contact [email protected] and they'll be happy to help.

Find your schedule here: https://blogs.shu.ac.uk/welcome_schedules

Welcome Week is less than two weeks away and we can't wait! Booking for our events will start on Monday 14 September, but in the meantime you can have a sneaky look at what to expect on our dedicated Welcome Week 2020 page: www.shu.ac.uk/welcome/welcome-week

Timetables update: We'll be issuing timetables on 21 September. We really appreciate your patience, and we understand that this is challenging, particularly for those who have caring or other responsibilities. A lot of learning will be taking place online, so there will be greater flexibility for students to access lectures and resources in their own time.
