The pathway from seasonal waste to sustainable aviation fuel 🌟

A new blog from School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering students, Rory Hannah, Krishnikha Ananthakrishnan and Eleanor Borrill, takes a festive look at the different waste feedstocks and pathways that can be used to make sustainable aviation fuel. You can even test your knowledge in a quiz! Read more and take the quiz: https://www.supergen-bioenergy.net/news/the-pathway-from-seasonal-waste-to-sustainable-aviation-fuel/ 🥳

We recently hosted a brilliant welcome event for our newest Engineering Student Ambassadors. The event was a casual chance for them to meet our Faculty team, share in conversation and ask insightful questions over some well-deserved drinks and biscuits. 🍵 🍪 They also got to meet some of our existing ambassadors to learn more about their new roles.

Our ambassadors are the most authentic and trusted voice for prospective students. We’re proud of our entire team of ambassadors and want to say a huge thank you 👏 to them all for all their work and for being such amazing champions for engineering at Sheffield. ⭐

🌟Graduate success story 🌟Denisse Pasco Ku has been awarded the Royal Aeronautical Society's Norbert Edward Rowe (NE Rowe) Award, which recognises young engineers for their technical presentations on an aeronautical subject. 👏

Denisse, now a Graduate Research Engineer for National Composites Centre, was awarded for her presentation on her final year project, which explored low-cost manufacturing techniques for composites. The project detailed a sustainable curing process designed to reduce the environmental footprint and increase the accessibility of aerospace material production.

Congratulations Denisse: https://sheffield.ac.uk/mac/news/aerospace-engineering-graduate-scoops-prestigious-national-lecture-award 🥳
